Savannah Bergli is a Pianist, teacher,and composer from Oslo, Norway. She earned her Bachelor’s degree in Piano Performance at The New School´s Mannes School of Music where she studied with Inessa Zaretsky. She earned her Master´s Degree in Piano Pedagogy and Piano Performance at NYU Steinhardt under the guidance of Eteri Andjaparidze.
She started playing piano at the age of 5 and attended the prestigious Barratt Due Institute of Music in Oslo, Norway from Ages 8 to 12. In her teen years she moved to the United States in pursuit of improvement and experience. She studied under Timothy Hoft at the University of Las Vegas and then she went on to perform in festivals and competitions in Oslo, Las Vegas, Los Angeles, New Jersey, Boston and New York. She was awarded second prize at the 2016 Bushell piano competition. As a Composer, Savannah debuted in Boston in 2018 with her piece Avskjeds Preludie.
As a techer, Savannah was Adjunct Faculty at NYU Steinhardt where she taught individual and group classes to undergraduate students. She has also maintained her private studio in New York for the last 5 years. Her approach to teaching involves work on body awareness and setting up proper piano technique as well as stimulating a creative mindset in the students themselves by exposing them to diverse styles of music from many different time periods. In recent years her work has been focused on younger students, some of which she has prepared for accredited testing certification exams such as ABRSM and RCM.
Outside of practicing music Savannah enjoys spending time in nature and cross country running.
She has been writing comic books since the young age of 5 and is a skilled visual artist.
